Welbeck and Xhaka Fire Arsenal To Europa League Quarter-Finals

Arsenal cruised into the Champions League quarter-finals with a comfortable 3-1 home victory over AC Milan.

The Gunners, who won the first leg at the San Siro 0-2, came from behind to beat the Italians at the Emirates.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu put the Serie A side ahead, catching Ospina off guard with a great strike from outside the box.

Moments later, Danny Welbeck equalised from the spot after winning the penalty in controversial circumstances, as he appeared to go down easily under the challenge of Ricardo Rodriguez.

Granit Xhaka gave Arsene Wenger’s side breathing space, netting largely thanks to a howler from Gianluigi Donnarumm, before Welbeck put the tie to bed, heading in his second.

The Premier League team will discover their next opponents in the draw on Friday.
