Wenger : Alexis Sanchez’s Man Utd Move Is Imminent

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez‘s Arsenal exit is ‘imminent’ but is unsure whether the Chilean will be joining Manchester United or Manchester City.

The 29-year-old has not traveled with Arsenal’s squad for their match against Bournemouth on Sunday. According to reports, United are prepared to make Sanchez the highest-paid player in the Premier League by offering a contract worth £400,000 a week. Jose Mourinho’s side are also willing to spend £30m on the forward, which is just £5m short of Arsenal’s valuation.

City, meanwhile, are reluctant to pay more than £20m for Sanchez, given that he is out of contract at the end of the season. The Premier League leaders are also unwilling to match United’s contract offer and have proposed a deal in the region of £290,000 a week.

Asked why Sanchez has been left out of the squad, Wenger told Sky Sports: ‘He’s been vague at the moment, the situation is not completely decided one way or the other, so I left him at home.
