Willian leaves Arsenal club by mutual consent

Written by on August 31, 2021

Willian Borges da Silva joined Arsenal from Chelsea last August and made 37 appearances during the 2020/21 campaign.

He had two more years to run on his contract but following positive and constructive recent discussions with him and his team, he will be leaving for a new opportunity with Corinthians in Brazil, where he began his career.

The news was confirmed on Arsenal’s website on Monday. The club confirmed Willian left by mutual consent after one season at the Emirates. Willian has scored only a goal and had five assists in the 25 Premier League games he has featured for the Gunners.

The contract termination is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
