What Is Max Million?

Max Million is MAX FM’s signature listener reward campaign, now reimagined as “The Million Naira Word.” Instead of racing against a buzzer, listeners compete by staying consistently tuned in. Throughout the quarter, MAX FM reveals one letter at a time from a secret mystery word. Listeners who track every clue and correctly identify the complete word stand a chance to win ₦1,000,000.

The only way to discover the word is by listening to MAX FM — there are no shortcuts, no hints outside the airwaves, and no way to catch up once a letter is missed.

How to Win: The Rules

1. A secret word is chosen. Before the campaign begins, MAX FM selects one mystery word internally (e.g. HUSTLE). It stays confidential and is known only to the campaign team.
2. One letter drops every week. Each week, a single letter of the mystery word is revealed on air. The order may be sequential or shuffled to increase suspense.
3. Letters can drop anywhere, anytime. Reveals happen on different shows, at different times, without prior notice — including Max Breakfast, News, Late Night, Sunday Morning Show, and Max Hits. Listeners must stay tuned throughout the day to avoid missing a clue.
4. Entries open at the end of the quarter. In the final week, MAX FM announces that entries are open. Listeners submit what they believe is the complete Max Million word.
5. Submissions are made via WhatsApp, with one entry allowed per phone number.
6. Correct entries are shortlisted. Once entries close, all correct submissions are separated, and potential winners are chosen through a random selection process to keep the game fair.
7. The Million Naira Call decides the winner. MAX FM calls a selected listener. When the listener answers, the very first word spoken — not “Hello,” “Hi,” “Good afternoon,” or “My name is…” — must be the correct Max Million word.
8. Get it right, win the cash. If the first word spoken matches the mystery word (e.g. “HUSTLE!”), the caller instantly becomes the winner of ₦1,000,000. If they say anything else, they lose the opportunity immediately, and MAX FM proceeds to call the next correct entrant until a winner emerges.

Listener tip: Save the station’s number, keep your phone nearby at all times during the entry period, warn family members not to answer calls on your behalf, and practice answering the phone with the mystery word — not a greeting.

Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility: The Max Million campaign is open to listeners of MAX FM who submit a valid entry within the stated entry period.
2. Campaign duration: Each edition of Max Million runs for one full quarter (three months), consisting of weekly letter reveals followed by an entry stage in the final week.
3. Letter reveals: Letters are released solely through MAX FM’s live broadcast. The station is not obligated to publish letters through any other channel, and letters will not be repeated once aired.
4. Entry submission: Entries must be submitted via the official WhatsApp channel announced on air once MAX FM declares that “entries are now open.”
5. One entry per phone number: Only one submission per phone number will be accepted. Duplicate or multiple entries from the same number may be disqualified.
6. Accuracy of entry: Only entries with the correct, complete mystery word will be considered valid and entered into the selection process.
7. Selection process: Winners are determined through a random selection process among all correct entries, followed by the live on-air Million Naira Call.
8. The winning call condition: To win, the selected listener must answer the phone by saying the correct mystery word as the very first word spoken. Any other response — including greetings, questions, or hesitation before the word — will result in disqualification from that call.
9. Subsequent attempts: If a selected listener fails to answer correctly, MAX FM reserves the right to call the next eligible entrant, continuing until a winner is confirmed.
10. Prize: The confirmed winner receives ₦1,000,000 cash, subject to MAX FM’s standard prize verification and disbursement procedures.
11. Recording and publicity: The winning phone call may be recorded and used as promotional content across MAX FM‘s platforms, including radio, Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
12. Station’s discretion: MAX FM reserves the right to modify the letter release schedule, entry period, or selection process at its discretion to maintain the fairness and integrity of the campaign.
13. Staff eligibility: Employees of MAX FM and their immediate family members may be ineligible to participate, in line with standard station promotional policy.
14. Final decision: All decisions made by MAX FM regarding entries, eligibility, and winner selection are final.
