Billie Eilish Calls Israel’s Gaza Relocation Plan ‘Horrifying’
Katz, in a press statement on Monday, revealed that he had directed Israel’s military to prepare for the construction of a new settlement to initially house 600,000 Palestinians, with plans to eventually move all 2.1 million residents of Gaza into the site.
Reacting to the development, Eilish took to her Instagram Stories, posting a screenshot of the news along with a blunt caption: “Horrifying.”
The singer also used the moment to call for more humanitarian support for the people of Gaza, writing:
“Gaza needs clean water.”
Eilish has been one of the more vocal celebrities calling attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza following Israel’s ongoing military campaign in the region. In March 2024, she joined a group of high-profile stars wearing the red ceasefire pin during the Oscars, symbolizing support for a ceasefire and humanitarian aid for Palestinians.
