THE EVIDENCE AGAINST NAIRA MARLEY IS OVERWHELMING – EFCC

Written by on May 16, 2019

EFCC has finally reacted to the release of Zlatan Ibile and three others, while Naira Marley remains in custody.

EFCC claim they found overwhelming evidence against Naira Marley and this is why he is still in their custody and not released along with Zlatan Ibile on bail.

Zlatan Ibile was released on Tuesday night, alongside his crew members, Tiamiu Abdulrahman Kayode, Adewunmi Adeyanju Moses and Abubakar Musa.

EFCC spokesman, Tony Orilade, told Premium Times, that the four suspects were only released on administrative bail but evidence against Naira Marley Is overwhelming that is why he is still held in custody.

According to him:

“There is overwhelming evidence against Naira Marley; so we can’t afford to release him on administrative bail like Zlatan and the three others.

That Zlatan has been released does not mean they have been discharged and acquitted. Naira Marley is still in our custody and will be charged to court soon and we will make the charges known in an official statement soon.”

Naira Marley, Zlatan Ibile and three others were arrested in connection with alleged case of internet fraud and money laundering. Intelligence report had also linked them to cyber-crime offences. At the point of arrest, the Commission found and recovered a number of items, including laptops, from the suspects. According to EFCC, They have so far reportedly volunteered useful information about their involvement in the alleged criminal activities, even as investigations continue.
