Faouzi Ghoulam Wins 2017 Algerian Golden Ball

Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam has been named the Best Algerian Football Player for the year 2017.
His impressive defensive performances for both Maurizio Sarri’s men and the North African country last year have rewarded as he suceeds Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez who won the award in 2016.
Ghoulam played 29 league games last season and was effective in helping the Partenopei keep 12 clean sheets as they finished third in the 2016-17 Serie A campaign.
For the Algerian national team, the 26-year-old played in all their Group B games at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon but they were knocked out in the first round after settling for just two draws and a defeat.
