Mabel Makun, the lovely wife of comedian Ayo Makun, has voiced her concerns about the current situation in the country. In a heartfelt statement, the mother of two decried the adverse impact of the exchange rate on businesses, which she emphasized is taking a toll.

She conveyed her fatigue at continually raising prices as running a business has become increasingly demanding. She also highlighted the struggle faced by the average person, who can no longer afford even a simple loaf of bread. This economic strain has led to parents opting for home tutors and withdrawing their children from traditional schools.

Mabel went on to express her distress over the fact that life’s basic necessities have transformed into luxuries, and the cost of living continues to rise.

“Never been this afraid for my country, Nigeria.
Exchange rate is killing businesses.
We are tired of increasing prices!
Business is now draining! An average common man can no longer afford a loaf of bread.
Parents withdrawing their kids from schools for home tutors.
Basic needs are now luxury!
Everything is high. affordability has suddenly become Fiction!
What is the way out?”.

Mabel Makun laments over the country's economy

Mabel Makun isn’t the sole celebrity vocal about the country’s hardships. Just weeks ago, Iyabo Ojo, in response to the government’s decision to provide a meager N8,000 monthly to impoverished Nigerians, questioned whether the populace can endure until they realize the illusory “Renewed Hope.”

The mother of two expressed the prevailing severe hunger and dismissed the government’s palliative plan as a mere mockery and insult.

Likewise, Wumi Toriola decried the surging fuel prices and shared her wavering sentiments about the nation. She highlighted the elimination of middle-ground, making it a matter of wealth or poverty.

Adding to the growing list of discontent, Kemi Afolabi took a stand against the Nigerian government, urging them to cease suffocating the citizens.

She lamented the rising cost of living, which has plunged the country from bad to worse, pleading with the government to show mercy to the masses.
