Peruzzi sends memo to the Nigerian police and army

Written by on January 12, 2024

In a recent memo, Afrobeat Singer Peruzzi urged the Nigerian police and army to actively participate in addressing issues. His response was prompted by recent statements from both forces, particularly in light of viral videos featuring the police.

In one video, the police made an announcement while parading 67 suspects involved in various crimes. Their message was clear: it’s acceptable for Nigerians to “agree” in 2024, contrary to the well-known slogan.

Peruzzi’s call for engagement stems from the backdrop of these developments, emphasizing the need for the police and army to actively involve themselves in addressing societal challenges.

The police, through their publicized video, presented a stance that challenges the prevalent slogan, setting the tone for a dynamic discourse on the expectations for the year 2024. “no gree for anybody”.

However, the army also recently put out a statement where they also revealed that they will “not gree” for anybody. Recall that in the past weeks, the slogan, “No gree For anybody”, has become extremely popular in Nigeria. And while it is light-hearted, it loosely translates to the need for cautiousness and agility in 2024.

Recall that back in October of 2023, Peruzzi had made a surprising revelation during a freestyle session in his studio. He also shared it on social media.

He expressed that he was the brain behind the two chart-topping songs of Davido, Unavailable and Risky which have performed remarkably well globally. Also recall that the two artists had both engaged in an online banter recently, which shows that there is no bad blood between them and that they are both in good terms.
