While most youngsters up and down the country were handing out flowers and chocolates for Mother’s Day on Sunday, Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford had other ideas.
The 20-year-old had starred against Liverpool a day earlier, and decided to give a gift like no other.
Rashford took to Instagram to show off the Man of the Match award from English football’s biggest fixture, before handing it over to his mother as a gesture of affection.
Sharing an image of himself and his mother, Melanie, holding the Premier League award, Rashford wrote: ‘Thank you for all you do. Happy Mother’s Day Mum, perfect present!’
In the heated clash at Old Trafford, Rashford scored twice within the opening 25 minutes.
