Filmone Drops Teaser for ‘Farmer’s Bride’ Featuring Tobi Bakre and Efe Irele

Set in 1980s Ibadan, “Farmer’s Bride” is scheduled to grace cinemas on September 27, 2024. As announced by FilmOne Studios on their official Instagram page.

The plot unfolds around Odun, a wealthy farmer with no immediate family except his late brother’s wife and her son


Determined to find companionship, Odun decides to marry Funmi, a young village bride chosen for him. Instead of bringing him solace in his twilight years. Funmi finds herself engulfed in sorrow and resentment, coerced into a union arranged by her mother, Tundun.

FilmOne Studios is a prominent player in the Nigerian and West African film industry. known  for their distribution and production prowess showcased in hits like “Battle on Buka Street,” “The Wedding Party,” and “Adire.”


Directed by Adebayo Tijani and Jack’enneth Opukeme, also penned the screenplay, “Farmer’s Bride” delves into profound themes of love, loyalty, and the unyielding pursuit of justice.

Opukeme, recognized for his work on blockbusters like “Adire” and “Battle on Buka Street,” collaborates with Tijani, known for his directorial successes with “Elemosho,” “King of Thieves,” and “Jagun Jagun.”


The stellar cast includes Femi Branch, Tobi Bakre, Gbubemi Ejeye, Mercy Aigbe, Efe Irele, and Wumi Toriola, with Ladun Awobokun serving as supervising producer.
