Even though more than two years have passed since the untimely demise of singer Sound Sultan, his friend and fellow artist, 2baba, consistently honors his memory.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, 2baba reminisced about shared experiences, recalling significant moments in their journey within the music industry.

Sound Sultan, a legend, had conveyed to 2baba that their collective dreams for Nigerian and African music had materialized. Despite now being considered an emerging artist himself, he was determined not to relent in supporting the new talents emerging in the industry.

Expressing the sentiment that there were numerous stories awaiting Sound Sultan in the New Year, 2baba underscored the enduring impact of their shared vision and the evolving narrative of the music scene.

2baba tells late Sound Sultan he is a new cat

Sound Sultan passed away on July 11, 2021, after battling ‘Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma,’ ‘Cancer of the throat.’

Before his death, Sound Sultan underwent chemotherapy in a hospital in the United States of America.

2baba, was one of the few who paid a visit to his grave, while he was in America bonding with his 3 kids from Babymama, Pero Adeniyi.

Taking to his Instagram page, 2baba stated that he went to pay respect to his brother alongside Emma Ugolee, Frankie J, and others.

Marking his first anniversary in 2022, 2baba admitted how badly he missed him, as he took to social media to pay tribute to him.

In February of 2023, 2baba penned a note to him, admitting to missing the singer, and vowing to keep celebrating him till he joins him.
