The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the 2025 class on July 2, naming Kidjo among 36 honorees recognized for their contributions to music, film, and television. Other celebrities on the list include Miley Cyrus, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, The Clark Sisters, Lyle Lovett, and Timothée Chalamet, known for playing Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.

Kidjo, 64, has built a powerful global career over three decades. She has earned 5 Grammy Awards from 15 nominations and holds the Guinness World Record for the most international album awards by a female artist at the Grammys. Her music blends African folk with global sounds and explores themes like identity, unity, and empowerment.

In addition to her music, Kidjo is a passionate pan-Africanist and advocate for social justice. She speaks out on gender equality, education, and black cultural unity.

Her upcoming star on the Walk of Fame celebrates both her artistic influence and cultural impact. It also represents a major win for African music on the world stage.

The 2025 honoree list also includes Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose), and posthumous stars for Tony Scott and Carlo Rambaldi.

The unveiling ceremony will take place later this year on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
