Terry G Clears Air on ‘Pass Me Your Love’ Controversy with AY.Com

Nigerian singer and producer Terry G has finally addressed the long-standing controversy surrounding the hit song “Pass Me Your Love”, originally released by his colleague AY.Com. The Afro-pop star responded to allegations that he “hijacked” the track during live performances, calling the claims “pure ignorance.”

The debate, which has trailed both artists for years, resurfaced on social media recently. Critics have accused Terry G of overshadowing AY.Com by frequently performing the 2009 hit, on which he was featured, during his concerts -allegedly contributing to AY.Com’s decline in the industry.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Terry G set the record straight:

“To those saying I stole ‘Pass Me Your Love’ from AY.Com – that’s pure ignorance. So I don’t have the right to perform a song I collaborated on? Your favourite artists do it all the time, but when it’s me, it becomes a problem. Hypocrisy at its finest.”

He further clarified that he never claimed ownership of the song or included it on his own album:

“And no, I didn’t put the song on my album – it was never about ownership, it was about collaboration.”

Terry G also pointed fingers at critics and fans who, in his view, fueled unnecessary drama that affected AY.Com’s career:

“Some of you ruined AY’s moment with your noise, not me. As for my shine, nobody can block it. You no reach.”
