Agbani Darego Asenite , a Nigerian model and beauty queen celebrates her 35th birthday today. The model born on the 22nd of December 1982 is best known as the first native African to win Miss World.
She was a contestant at Miss Universe and became the first Nigerian to place among the top 10 semi-finalists, finishing seventh overall. In 2001, Darego was crowned Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria.
She was also the winner of the 51st Miss World pageant held in Sun City, South Africa chosen from 93 contestants from all over the world.
She had promoted herself as wanting to be a computer scientist as well as a supermodel.
