Updates On Demi Lovato ‘s Reported Collapse After ‘Heroine Overdose’

Reports have been circulating that Demetria Devonne Lovato, American singer, songwriter and actress was recently rushed to an hospital in Los Angeles after she was found unconscious at her $8million Hollywood Hills home, due to an overdose of heroine.

In a previous interview, the 25 year old former X-factor judge had been quoted as saying,

“My first time doing coke I was 17, working on Disney Channel, and I was with a couple friends and they introduced me to it. I was scared because my mom always told me your heart could just burst if you do it. But I did it anyways and I loved it…I felt out of control the first time I did it. My dad was an addict and an alcoholic. Guess I always searched for what he found in drugs and alcohol because it fulfilled him and he chose that over a family.”

Putatively, she struggled with addiction to alcohol, cocaine and painkillers but had been sober for 6 years. She first sought treatment for substance abuse issues in 2010 and later revealed that she had relapsed after six years of sobriety last month.

Demi Lovato who appeared on the children’s television series Barney & Friends as a child released a new single, Sober, on June 21 and based on the lyrics of the song, it has been widely interpreted as her apologizing to her family and friends in a sort of emotional ballad for relapsing. According to the lyrics of the song, she said,

“Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor…And I’m sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again / I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.”

Authorities confirmed an ambulance had been sent to deal with her condition and social media messages poured in to show support and encouragement for her. A source close to the singer claims Demi Lovato did not overdose on heroine and that she was already in a stable condition last night.

A representative for the singer also said she is now “awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support.”
