Nigerian singer Davido, an award-winning artist, has succumbed to pressure and issued a heartfelt apology to his fans in Warri.
Using his Instagram story, the Afrobeat sensation expressed regret for causing his fans to expend their hard-earned money to attend the event.
He clarified that he hadn’t intended to participate in the concert and had previously informed the organizers. However, they continued to promote the event using his name. Characterizing this situation as regrettable, he pledged to bring Timeless to Delta State, promising an event that would be more substantial and superior in every way
“To my lovely fans in Warri that spent their hard-earned money to come out. Apologies you had to experience this. I was not going to be physically able to make it and this had been communicated to them for a longgggg while now I mean MONTHS ago but for reasons best known to them, they continued to promote the show using my name. It’s a shame. But specially for my fans out there, don’t worry you know I gotta bring Timeless to Delta State. We will do it properly, bigger and better”.
On Saturday, reports surfaced regarding the Former Nigerian Football Federation president’s public callout of Davido for allegedly breaching their contract.
The NFF President openly expressed his disappointment regarding Davido’s absence at an event held on Friday, October 6th. Despite a substantial payment, totaling $94,000, and the booking of an $18,000 plane, Davido failed to attend, dealing a significant blow to the city of Warri.
Furthermore, he compared Davido unfavorably to his rival, Burna Boy, highlighting the latter’s superior reliability.
Davido announced his intention to headline a concert in Warri this December, confidently challenging anyone to thwart his plans.
In a subsequent post, he pledged a donation to the NFF, acknowledging their challenges.
In an earlier post, he asserted his unwavering determination to perform anywhere, implying a commitment to fulfill his obligations in Warri.
Nonetheless, he alluded to the existence of undisclosed intricacies in their agreement, suggesting that there might be more to the story than meets the eye
